HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE!  

I love New Year! It's a time for me to take stock of where I have been, and chart a course to where I want to go. I planted the seeds four years ago when I started writing my books and after tending to them daily, it looks like this is the year I get to harvest. What a lesson this concept has been! Instead of constantly pulling out my sprouts looking for new growth and doubting every decision, I made the conscious effort to leave them alone and step out in faith that my time is coming. It's happening and I could not be more thrilled.

One question I get daily is, "When will you release audiobooks of Aura Cove?" I would love to make them accessible to people with disabilities and other readers who prefer to listen, but the cost is prohibitive. To create audiobooks of the series will cost seven to ten thousand dollars for human narration upfront. When you factor in being paid pennies for a purchase in Audible, (this is a whole 'nother story,) the return on investment would take a decade.

Sure, I could make them with AI, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Human narrators bring more emotion and I refuse to half-ass any of my projects. I vow to whole-ass it for you every time. (Hee Hee.)

Last week I learned authors are starting to harness the power of YouTube monetization as a revenue stream and it seems like the perfect platform to help me create the audiobooks. I loved the Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies so naturally I am a Liane Moriarty fan. This one has a Patrick, and you know my fondness for those. So far so good!

 

Currently Writing: In a Flash: Midlife in Aura Cove Book 5

25% of the first draft has been written and my butterflies have been voting on character names inside my reader group. Katie, Yuli, and Zoya feel like old friends now and it will be bittersweet to finish the series this year.
