In search of a life changing experience with my child in the months before they turned 18, we went on a treehouse tour of four treehouses in Sevierville, Tennessee.

What transpired there was nothing short of magic and the location inspired the novel. The characters of Tessa and Nova are vastly different from us and true figments of my imagination. The treehouses, however, were very much real.
