What I googled this week while working on my next book:
- What is the famous line at the end of every Scooby Doo episode?
- Where are the most dinosaur fossils in America?
Big News! "Back to Before." is becoming an audiobook. I am working with Lindsey Arellano and so far I've listened to the first hour and it is so incredible to hear the life she infuses into the words. This is a total dream come true for me and the next huge investment I need to make in my career as a novelist. Hopefully this helps me gain more readers and listeners with this new format. Listen to chapter one below. Pre-Order for Nov 2021 delivery here.
I found it! Where the sidewalk ends! Shel Silverstein would be so proud.
Life Changes are HARD!
In preparation for Iceland, I need to lose some of my extra COVID L-B's and get in better shape so I don't die on a glacier in Iceland. Why is it so easy to put on weight and so hard to take it off? Especially after 45? Why are carbs so damn delicious? This is the paradox of my pre-menopausal life.
I'm carb cycling, 5 days in a row of low carb (under 50) during the week, two days of moderate to high carb. Then repeat. I'm literally planning my cheat ultimate meal as I write this. Happy Hour at Eatery A. Their brick oven pizza is to die for. I'm drooling as I write this. Italian sausage, mushroom, and braised fennel? YES, Please!. Chorizo, Pineapple, Jalapeno Jam? Again, I say, YES!
Currently watching:
Sex Education on Netflix. Hilariously British. Not something to watch with the kids in the room, but Gillian Anderson who I hated in X Files is brilliant. Her son is so good, and it's written perfectly. Very entertaining.
Currently reading:
The Bestseller by Olivia Goldsmith. This was the first book I did not finish in two years. It was a slog. 734 pages and I got about 250 pages in and said, I'm too old to waste anymore of my life on this one. Can't win 'em all. Will start something new next week. Check out the Books Worth Reading Blog for My Favorite Reads.
Click here to join the Ninyons. It's where I give books away, share details of my life, and try to make coffee shoot out of your nose with my killer meme game. It's rated R in there, so if off-color humor offends you, we are not your people.
The Weekly Gift Card Winner is: Nicole Beatty. Enter at the bottom of this page for your own chance to win. Or click here to treat 'yo self and buy one for you or a friend now.

P.S. If you've read one of my books, can you help a struggling new author out? Reviews are gold and help me reach more people. Please take a minute and tell me (and other readers) what you thought. You can review on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, KOBO, and Apple Books or at any other bookseller. It's even better if you copy and paste the review to multiple places. More reviews=More visibility. You can write as much or as little as you want and I would be forever in your debt.
