Nurses are the backbone of the American healthcare system. The doctors often get all the glory, but the ones who are actually doing much of the actual work and deep in the trenches every day are nurses. Day in and day out, they actively strive to take care of patients who are often not very patient at all. It’s a thankless job, and I was thrilled when readers voted to give a nudge to the nurses.
